If you don't open the game in steam vr it just stream the steam vr tab. I can't really tell if this is what you did but give that a try of you didn't do that. LorD_TricKy

The only way on the Quest alone would be a very convoluted and expensive setup. You'd need to cast the Quest to a chromecast, which is plugged into a capture card, which is plugged into your PC. Yes I'm always on discord when on my quest 2. I use airlink . Air link is the same as using the link cable. Just set your computers discord audio input and output to the Oculus while it's plugged in. But of course then you have to be using pcvr.

I'm not sure how you would pull this off with a Quest. Maybe the Link cable and run vr chat off the Laptop if it has enough power to run VRChat. Not sure how the audio/mic settings work with a Link

Yes, you just have to start casting before you start air link because the button to do it isn't there once you are in the Rift's Oculus Home. I do it all the time a room away from the router and PC, which isn't suppose to work and does sometimes glitch out, and in the same room as the TV. I haven't noticed more frequent glitches when casting
